For his Staging Series presentation, Harry Meadley will perform and film a new work in the form of a late-night talk show, inviting attendees to become part of his ‘live studio-audience’. This work investigates the artist’s financial situation, marital status, and general mental state. The Harry Meadley Show continues to further delve into what it means to be an artist. The traditional over-confident and satirical nature of the host is replaced with one of uncertainty and vulnerability. In so doing, this presentation explores, through humorous delivery, many of the obstacles facing artists today.

Harry Meadley is an artist based in Leeds. Recent works include performing a one-hour stand-up comedy special to releasing an audiobook on Amazon and iTunes chronicling the lives of his many dogs. Recent exhibitions include Associate Artists, Liverpool Biennial; General Studies, OUTPOST, Norwich; The Kippenberger Challenge, de Appel, Amsterdam; Moments of Zen, Turf Projects, London; Display Show, Eastside Projects, Birmingham; LEVEL 3, Spike Island Test Space, Bristol; and Emotional Resources, Northern Gallery of Contemporary Art, Sunderland.

This event is free to attend but booking is required via Eventbrite.
