Newly-presented works by over 18 artists with a moving image or performance based practice, presented through four events including:

Andrea Buckley, Emma Charles, Lucy Clout, Siobhan Davies, Melanie Gilligan, Keira Greene, Evan Ifekoya, Anneke Kampman, Helka Kaski, Beth Kettel, Quentin Lannes, Shona Macnaughton, Myles Painter, Matt Parker, Abri de Swardt, Lance Wakeling, James N. Kienitz Wilkins, Josh Wilson and Rehana Zaman.

Jerwood Staging Series is a new curatorial project designed to provide a London platform for event-based presentations of work, including film screenings, performances, readings and discussion. The four events have been curated by: artist Emma Charles and curator David Charlesworth; curator and writer Shama Khanna; writer George Vasey; and artist Keira Greene, who is concurrently exhibiting a related commission in the Project Space.

Emma Charles and Dave Charlesworth have curated an evening of film screenings featuring work by Emma Charles, Melanie Gilligan, Myles Painter, Matt Parker, and Lance Wakeling. This touring screening programme, produced in collaboration with David, is part of Emma’s ACE/ZKM-funded film project White Mountain and the films offer a series of different encounters with data space.

Shama Khanna has curated an afternoon of screenings and discussions exploring the use and misuse of theorist Glissant’s notion of opacity. Confirmed participants include: Lucy Clout, Evan Ifekoya, James N. Kienitz Wilkins, and Rehana Zaman.

George Vasey has curated an evening of new works by an international group of artists. The event will stage screenings, performances and readings including new work by Beth Kettel, Anneke Kampman, Josh Wilson, Abri de Swardt, Quentin Lannes and Shona Macnaughton.

The final event brings together two films by artist Keira Greene: a new work produced by the artist after her recent visit to the studio of Anna Halprin in California and Totally on Fire. These will be presented in dialogue with Manual, a live work by choreographer Siobhan Davies, made with solo dance artist Helka Kaski, and activated by Andrea Buckley.

Jerwood Staging Series is one of two new curatorial projects taking place over summer 2016 in celebration of Jerwood Visual Arts’ 10th anniversary year.
