Hazel Brill among FLAMIN Fellowship 2019-20 Recipients

The FLAMIN Fellowship offers a unique opportunity in developing professional artistic practice with a series of monthly workshops, which cover key areas including selling artwork, film festival strategy, writing funding applications, archiving work, setting up a company and sustaining a practice.

Previous workshop speakers have included artists Heather Phillipson, Marianna Simnett and Noor Afshan Mirza, as well as representatives from Tate, LUX, BFI, Arts Council Englandand the Wellcome Trust.

Each year, FLAMIN Fellowship supports six artists at the early stages of their career, each with projects that they would like to develop.

The six artist-filmmakers selected for the second round of The FLAMIN Fellowship are: Hazel Brill who we are currently supporting through Survey; Max Colson; Maud Craigie; Milo Creese; Antonia Luxem; and Jennifer Martin.

With an expansive and innovative approach to the moving image spanning CG animation, projection-mapping, live action and found footage, the artists explore timely subjects from national identity and theatricality to queerness and social-racial dynamics.

Each artist receives support through a programme of workshops, mentoring with Production Advisor Pinky Ghundale, inclusion in a national screening programme, peer support and seed production funding of up to £2500.
