Jerwood Young Singer Huw Montague Rendall wins John Christie Award 2016

Montague Rendall is a Jerwood Young Artist and was a member of the 2016 Glyndebourne Festival Chorus, taking part in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Le nozze di Figaro and Béatrice et Bénédict, and singing the role of Fiorello in Il barbiere di Siviglia at Glyndebourne and the BBC Proms.

Currently a student of the Royal College of Music, he is studying under Russell Smythe. He will join the International Opera Studio, Opernhaus Zürich later in 2016.

The John Christie Award has been awarded since 1965 by the Worshipful Company of Musicians. Past winners include fellow Jerwood Young Singers Kate Royal (2004) and Duncan Rock (2010).
