My role is all about managing our funding opportunities to make their processes as caring and responsive as possible. I support our funded artists to deliver their projects and secure further funding, and support organisations to design and deliver their artist developmental programmes.
I started at Jerwood Arts in November 2020, since then I have worked with and supported over 100 artists project managing the Live Work Fund, Weston Jerwood Creative Bursaries, Jerwood Compton Poetry Fellowships and Jerwood New Work Fund. I particularly enjoy working on creating more equitable selection processes for our programmes and with organisations we’re working with.
My first role in the arts was Events & Community Arts Apprentice at the Southbank Centre (2016-18). Before working at Jerwood Arts I worked as a freelance production and events manager with organisations across the UK and Europe including Barbican, Serious, Outlook and Dimensions Festival, London Jazz Festival, We Out Here, Boiler Room and WOW Festival. I have also been a mentor for STEP Meet A Mentor, A New Direction programme for young East Londoners which aims to increase representation in the arts and culture sector.
During my apprenticeship at Southbank Centre, I founded and curated Violet Nights, a talks event for 18 – 30 year olds. As I wanted to create a space for people to have intersectional conversations about arts and culture, community, and socio-economic issues. Violet Nights was featured in Time Out as ‘one of the best free events in London’ and evolved into a podcast series.
Outside of work, I am an avid reader, walker and multi-instrumentalist playing and touring in bands since I was 15. I was raised and I’m based between Tottenham, North London and Carmarthen, West Wales.
