Eliza Shaddad

Eliza Shaddad is a Cornwall-based musician and songwriter of Scottish-Sudanese origin.

Her work centres around raw, confessional lyricism and grunge-laden guitar riffs nestled in expansive production. As an independent artist she has released three EPs and one LP, toured the UK and Europe, and collaborated with artists such as Hansu-Tori, Anthony Anaxagorou, and Clean Bandit.

The Live Work fund will support Eliza in developing her relationship with online audiences in 2021: through an intimate VR live recording project, and through a live-stream full-band performance project.  The live-stream project will be an interactive celebration of live music and the people that make it possible.  It will provide an insight into the live music industry, and involve the recruitment of artists and crew and the creation of new creative networks.

The fund will also give her time to research, develop her writing practice and explore Scottish and Sudanese traditional music. Throughout 2021 Eliza will also be preparing for future performances, with a particular focus on stagecraft, and lighting and sound design.
