Mo'min Swaitat

Mo’min Swaitat is a London-based Palestinian theatre and film maker.

Mo’min trained at the Freedom Theatre, Jenin, and arthaus, formerly LISPA in London/Berlin, specialising in the Lecoq method.

He has worked with the Schaubühne, New Diorama Theatre, Arcola Theatre, The Public Theater NY, Battersea Arts Centre, and many others. In 2017 his solo show Alien Land was selected for the Sundance Institute Lab. He also toured with Theatre Témoin’s outdoor puppetry show Routes and led a physical theatre programme for newly arrived refugees resulting in Fragments, Shakespeare’s Globe. He also worked as a performer/choreographer on Hejira’s music video Ribs, and directed A Land Without Jasmine at the BAC.

Mo’min recently starred in I Have Met the Enemy, Common Wealth and Northern Stage. His surreal short film Stones in Hand, Albany Theatre and Foreign Body Productions will be exhibited early 2021. Momin is also an Associate Artist with Sarha Collective and an electronic music DJ and collector of rare Arab vinyl and cassettes.

The Live Work Fund will enable Mo’min to collaborate with new artists and research ways of creating an immersive online platform inspired by the Palestinian and Bedouin archive, which will feature music, storytelling, film, and ambient sound.
