Rhys Slade Jones

Rhys’ Slade Jones practice straddles cabaret, performance and craft and deals with notions of place, history, and identity.

Their debut show The Land of My Fathers and Mothers and Some Other People received critical acclaim and was awarded the COMMON Award 2019. Rhys is currently part of BBC Writers Room Welsh Voices and has made work with National Theatre Wales, Theatr Genedlaethol, Pleasance, Portsmouth Royal and BBC Arts.

The Live Work Fund will enable Rhys to research traditional folk crafts and explore how they may be used to explore a relationship between landscape, identity, and optimism in the face of climate catastrophe.
