The Tetley fulfils a vital role within the Leeds and Yorkshire art scene, offering a public platform alongside outstanding national and international work, often presented in the UK for the first time. It works with artists at a pivotal stage in their careers to enable them to take the next step, and supports curators to develop innovative exhibitions.
The Tetley will create a unique development opportunity for three artists or curators based in the North of England. These commissions will give practitioners the opportunity to develop a significant body of work or curate a group exhibition, with support of a mentor, a research and development budget, production resources and The Tetley’s backing. The programme will enable the selected cohort to transform their practice and reach new networks through developing and realising a high-profile exhibition that marks a significant step-change in their work.
