PRS Foundation’s Composers’ Fund call for entries open

PRS Foundation’s Composers’ Fund is an opportunity for composers with a strong track record, giving direct access to funding at pivotal stages in their career. A contribution of up to £10,000 is available to composers who are already making a significant cultural contribution in the UK and have the potential for greater impact in the UK and overseas. Previous recipients include the recent Award winners Charlotte Bray, James Weeks, Hilda Paredes, Gavin Higgins and Erika Fox.

For 2020 and 2021, we are partnering with PRS Foundation to support four rounds of the fund, each offering grant support of up to £10,000 to 6-8 composers per round. Support from Jerwood Arts will specifically go towards the selected artists who are in the earlier stages of their composing careers.

Applications are now open and funding is available for composers who can make the case for support that would enable them to make a significant step change in their career. This fund is unique as composers can apply for anything that they can make a valid case for. Previous projects have included recordings, the promotion and performance of existing works, international co-commissions and development, performer collaboration, residencies, sabbaticals or childcare costs and project or promotional support.
