CONFESSIONS: Making a Performance of Yourself

10 Feb 2020

7-8:30pm

Jerwood Arts, 171 Union Street , London, SE1 0LN

CONFESSIONS is a programme of events led by Jerwood Arts which invites speakers and participants to use the underpinnings of ‘confessing’ to confront broader issues of private and public experiences of creative practices, in the hope of gesturing towards a more collective mode of working and discussing.

Leading this edition of confessions will be artists who share their experiences of public performance in practice.

This event is for artists, curators and arts professionals to meet and express concerns, joys and demands around their practices.

Format

  • Introduction and confessions from speakers
  • A facilitated discussion which invites attendees to express thoughts and issues around their practices

Recent solo projects and exhibitions include: Teasing out Contingencies at Tate Modern, Tate Exchange. The Higgins, Sir William Harpur Gallery, Bedford – Transcending the Signified at MOCA London.
