The premiere screening of Letter from Tokyo, a documentary film by Morgan Quaintance exploring arts, culture and politics in Tokyo. Shot over a three-month period earlier this year, the film focuses on grass roots arts initiatives, use of public space, and queer politics. An installation of images, objects, and ephemera collected by Morgan Quaintance during the filming of the work will  also be displayed. Millips, who worked on the composition of the soundtrack for Letter from Tokyo, will bookend the screening with live arrangements of music from the film.

Morgan Quaintance is a London-based artist, writer and curator. His critical essays and texts have been published widely, whilst many curated group exhibitions and events have been staged across the UK. His moving-image work has been shown recently at LIMA, Amsterdam, and Cubitt Gallery, London. Forthcoming screenings include: 14th Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival. Forthcoming solo exhibitions include: KARST, Plymouth, which is due to open in early 2019. In December this year Quaintance will travel to Dakhar, Senegal to begin work on a documentary there.
