Hear Walkout with Reman an audio discussion made whilst walking, a collaboration between Jerwood Writer In Residence Alex Hull and artist Reman Sadani.

About the Jerwood Writer in Residence

Alex Hull is a writer and curator based in London. In 2018, she graduated from Goldsmiths with a postgraduate degree in Contemporary Art Theory, where she wrote a dissertation about the representation of prison abolition in visual culture and its urgency within a wider postcapitalist political project. She has written for London Photography Diary, The Emotional Art Magazine and Art Monthly, whose radio show she regularly hosts. She is also co-founder of g_URL, a curatorial project that collaborated with emerging female-identifying artists who incorporate and interrogate technology within their practice.

Reman Sadani (b. 1995, Yemen) is a London-based Iraqi artist and a graduate of the Slade School of Fine Art. She is a multidisciplinary artist with a focus on film and moving image. Her narratives are often driven by a search for an exit. The physical toll of this constant search manifests in space and performance as the negotiation between the individual and the collective plays out. Recent screenings and group exhibitions include: Independent Iraqi Film Festival, London (2020), Whole Nine Yards (2020), Soundings, Raven Row, London (2019), A Night of Shorts, SET, London (2018), No Screening, IMT Gallery, London (2015).
