Ashley has been working on projects recently with an interdisciplinary approach to working with sound and a type of ethnographic music-based research to examine notions of storytelling, ownership and alternative forms of knowledge production.
The Jerwood New Work Fund will help Ashley to further explore ways of expanding and disseminating this research to local, national and international audiences.
When asked what he was looking forward to about his Jerwood New Work Fund project, Ashley said,
I’m really excited to be able to develop work and ideas alongside a core group of collaborators over the coming months, and build and nurture those relationships in the lead up toward the most ambitious project I will have worked on to date.
